The first happiness is that… .: The relationship of circadian rhythms and exercise

The benefits of exercise are directly related to when it is done. Your body is not just a machine that runs the same way all the time. The body has its own internal clock, known as circadian rhythms. Understanding your circadian rhythms and how they relate to your exercise routine can improve your performance, energy levels and overall well-being. However, the time for working out is different for each person and that is why one should find the best for him and exercise at that time. What are circadian rhythms? Simply put, circadian rhythms are natural and internal processes that follow a roughly 24-hour cycle. It also regulates the sleep-wake cycle, hormone release and body temperature. These rhythms are affected by external factors such as light and darkness, which is why you fall asleep at night and wake up during the day. Morning Workouts Many individuals prefer to do morning workouts. They like to start their day with a fitness activity. When you work out in the morning, you inevitably have better energy for your day's activities. Exercise activity increases endorphins in the body. It is a special endocrine that increases enthusiasm and sets a positive approach for the day. Tips for Morning Workouts • If you are not a morning person by nature, take it easy on yourself. Start with a gentle walk or light yoga to gradually awaken your body. • Have your workout clothes ready at night, set your alarm and prepare a quick and light breakfast. The fewer decisions you have to make in the morning, the easier it will be to move forward. • Try to get outside for your workout, even if it's just for a few minutes. Morning sunlight will help strengthen your circadian rhythm and make you more awake. Evening Workouts Some people have such a busy schedule that they only find time to exercise in the evening. It also has significant benefits if you want to end your day with some fitness activity. Evening workout activities are beneficial to do with your group. One of the biggest benefits of an evening workout is stress relief. Exercise after a long day helps you relax and de-stress you. This is a healthy way to shift from work mode to relaxation mode. There is another benefit of working out in the evening. In fact your muscles are more flexible in the evening which reduces the risk of injury. Also, working out later in the day allows more time for sleep. Tips for Evening Workouts • If you work out close to bedtime, choose a quiet activity like yoga or light jogging. High-intensity workouts can be stimulating and make it difficult to fall asleep.
