Overseas Indians (NRIs) are now buying more houses in the country. Locally their investment in real estate has grown by 15-20% in 20 months. By 2025, the share of NRIs in the real estate market could reach 20%, from 15% at present. According to Anarock, in 2023, NRIs invested more than 1 lakh crore. NRIs buy 10-15% in real estate during every quarter.
NRIs benefit from expensive dollar
- Maximum NRIs opt for expensive and big houses costing more than 90 lakh rupees. Almost half of their purchases are between Rs 90 lakh and Rs 1.5 crore.
