26-year-old Australian batter Will Pukowski retires: decision due to severe head injury; Windies' Gabriel also retired

Australian batsman Will Pukowski took a surprising decision and retired at the age of 26. He suffered several head injuries while batting in his international and domestic cricket career. Due to which he had to retire at a young age. On the other hand, West Indies fast bowler Shannon Gabriel also said goodbye to international cricket. He played 86 matches for West Indies including all three formats. India's Barinder Saran also retired on Thursday itself. Pukowski was considered Australia's future in international cricket, having also played a Test against India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. He could have got a place in the team after the retirement of David Warner, but both have now retired. But in domestic cricket for Victoria, he played 36 first-class matches and 14 list-A matches. In which he scored 8 centuries and 11 half centuries. He played his last first-class match in March this year, while he played his last List-A match in 2022. 36-year-old Gabriel also retires On Thursday, 3 players retired from international cricket, Australia's Will Pukowski, India's Barinder Saran and West Indies' Shannon Gabriel. The 36-year-old Gabriel posted on Instagram and wrote, “For the last 12 years I have dedicated myself to playing international cricket for the West Indies. Since then he has been part of the West Indies Test team for a long time. He took 166 wickets in 59 Tests. Gabriel also took 33 wickets in 25 ODIs and 2 T20Is for the West Indies.
