Israel and Hamas have agreed to a three-day ceasefire in parts of Gaza. After the first case of polio in 25 years was reported in Gaza on August 23, 6.40 lakh children will be vaccinated against polio. He said that the ceasefire will be from 6 am to 3 pm local time. The WHO official said the vaccination campaign will begin in central Gaza, where a three-day ceasefire will be in place. It will then proceed to southern Gaza, where the ceasefire will hold for three more days. A vaccination campaign will then be carried out in northern Gaza. Peppercorn said the ceasefire could be extended to a fourth day in each area if needed. This figure is about a quarter of the total population of Gaza. According to reports, 59% of the buildings in Gaza have been destroyed in the Israeli attack so far. In northern Gaza the figure is over 70%. Talks in Qatar for ceasefire in Gaza Israel and Hamas held talks in Qatar on August 15 for a ceasefire and exchange of hostages. This went on for two days.
