Gunmen kill 23 in Pakistan: Highways blocked, vehicles stopped, ID checked and pierced in Balochistan

Unidentified gunmen shot dead 23 people in Pakistan's Balochistan on Sunday night. All those who died were passengers. The attackers had earlier blocked the highway. After this the bus stopped and started checking with people. They were checking ID cards of people. Then shoot them one by one. According to Pakistani newspaper Dawn, 20 of the dead were from Punjab, while 3 were from Balochistan. Musakhel police officer Najeeb Kakar said the gunmen had blocked the highway in Rarasham area. After that, the vehicles coming and going from Punjab were stopped and the inquiry started. The attackers checked the ID cards of the passengers and shot them dead. After the incident, they set fire to 12 vehicles and fled through hilly roads. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack, Musakhel Senior SP Ayub Khoso said that a banned terrorist organization carried out the incident. However, he did not reveal his identity. It seems that people have been killed after knowing their caste identity, he said. Meanwhile, terrorist outfit Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack in an e-mail to a journalist. Pakistan's PM Sharif has condemned the attack Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack. He said that the terrorists responsible for this incident will be given strict punishment. Terrorism of any kind will not be tolerated in the country. President Asif Ali Zardari and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti have also condemned this incident of terrorism. Bugti said that the Balochistan government will pursue the terrorists. In April, 9 people from Punjab were killed in a similar attack. Before this attack, a similar attack took place in April, in which people were identified and shot dead. After that, 9 people were shot dead near Nushki in Balochistan after checking their ID cards. Those killed were from Punjab. In October 2023, 6 laborers from Punjab were shot dead by unknown assailants in Turbat of Ketch district. A similar incident happened in 2015. When gunmen attacked a labor camp near Turba, 20 workers were killed.
