Bodies of 6 Israeli hostages found in Hamas tunnel: Army says Hamas killed hostages before troops got there, 97 Israelis still in captivity

Israel has recovered the bodies of 6 hostages from a Hamas tunnel in Rafah, Gaza. According to the Times of Israel, Israel's IDF said that Hamas had brutally killed the hostages before the troops arrived. Among the hostages killed was Harsh Goldberg, a 23-year-old American-born Israeli. The IDF said it had received reports of the presence of six hostages in the area. Due to which the army was advancing with great caution. On Saturday (31 August) they discovered a Hamas tunnel. The dead bodies of the hostages were found here during the investigation. All these Israelis were abducted on 7 October 2023 from Kibbutz Biri area of ​​Israel. Hamas took a total of 251 Israeli citizens hostage. Of these, 97 are still in Hamas captivity. 105 hostages were freed in a ceasefire in November last year. About 33 people have died there. 17 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli attack in the West Bank, on the other hand, Israel has been conducting an operation in the West Bank for the past 5 days. So far 17 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli army attacks in the cities of Tulkarm and Jenin. A commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad is also involved. This is Israel's largest military operation in the West Bank in the past year. Armored vehicles line the streets of the West Bank. Citizens of Tulkarm said that internet, electricity and telephone services have been cut off in their homes due to the Israeli attack. People don't even have food and water. Israeli forces rescued 4 hostages, 270 Palestinians were killed in the attack. According to the New York Times, Israeli soldiers have raided several homes in search of hidden weapons. Earlier on June 8, Israel released 4 of its citizens from Hamas captivity. In the meantime, more than 270 Palestinians were killed. Among the freed hostages was Noa Argmani, a 25-year-old girl who was forcibly taken by Hamas terrorists on a motorcycle. After the operation, Hamas claimed that three hostages were also killed in the attack. According to the report, American and Israeli intelligence and military teams are constantly trying to track the hostages in Gaza through drones, satellites and other methods. After this operation, Hamas ordered its terrorists to directly shoot the Israeli hostages if the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) advanced towards them. According to NYT, this decision was taken after the operation to free the Israeli hostages in the Nusirat camp.
