In this era, the number of people suffering from sex problems is increasing rapidly. Lack of correct and proper information makes people more prone to pain than pleasure in sex. Often, even people who are always active about sex, knowingly or unknowingly harm themselves. The biggest problem with such damage is infection during intercourse. If the infection is easily picked up, sometimes a huge loss has to be suffered. So if you are sexually active you should have proper knowledge about STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections) and prevention. One thing every couple should remember is that being careless during sex can be heavy. Before STIs pose a health risk, symptoms should be recognized and treated quickly. STIs or sexually transmitted diseases are infections caused by bacteria, viruses or other microbes. It is basically spread through sexual activity i.e. sex. These diseases include HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, genital ringworms, HPV and trichomoniasis. In many cases it can become so severe that a person has to lose his life. So this transition should be avoided. Don't be embarrassed if you experience any symptoms of STIs, but get it resolved.
What are the symptoms? Itching, burning or pain in the private part. Abnormal vaginal discharge. Excessive bleeding during periods. More pain during intercourse. Burning while urinating. If you have a fever or feel very tired. If any such symptoms are observed, contact the doctor immediately.
What to do to prevent STIs? Always use a condom during sex. Condoms mostly prevent infection. Although not a 100 percent guarantee, it can be tried as a safety measure. When you are having sex with a new partner, talk to them and find out about their sexual health. Regular health checkups are helpful in treating STIs. Also, if you are sexually active, you must have a health checkup once a year. If any symptoms of STIs appear after intercourse with a partner, go to the doctor immediately. Vaccines for STIs are also available in some cases. For example, when having HPV and hepatitis B. The doctor can also be asked if you need any of these vaccines. Or what vaccine should be taken. A healthy lifestyle should be adopted to strengthen the immune system. Regular exercise, proper diet and adequate sleep protect against infection. Have an open conversation with your partner about sexual health.
