After reading a letter from a British Army officer, Anand stumbles upon a government job and sets out to move forward in life. Let us know the struggle that followed and his journey to reach the pinnacle of success. Dev Anand left his comfortable job to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. Meanwhile, a passenger in a local train told him that Prabhat Film Company, a Hindi film maker, was looking for a handsome young man for his next film. The next day Dev Anand reached 'Prabhat Film Company'. There he met filmmaker-director-writer P. L. Met Santoshi. Devsaheb made a great impression on Satoshi with his speech and personality. So he hired Dev Anand in 'Prabhat Film Company' with a three-year contract. 'Hum Ek Hai' became Dev Anand's first film under the banner of this film company, but the film did not produce anything special, but Devsaheb's film journey began to run on track. During this period he also started getting many more film offers. After this the country was partitioned and Dev Anand's contract with 'Prabhat Company' ended. With this their struggle also ended. Dev Anand got a job in Ashok Kumar's film 'Zeed'. This film established him as an actor in the film industry. He met Baburao Pai, the owner of the company. Baburao Pai was very impressed by Devsaheb's words and frank reply. He said, 'Come tomorrow P. L. Meet Santoshi.' Hamari Adhuri Kahani Dev Anand got an opportunity to work with Suraiya, an actress and singer of that era, in the 1948 film Vidya. In those days Suraiya was on the pinnacle of success and Dev Anand was new to the industry. Both of them met on the first day of shooting of this film. How did the new love story begin? The film director introduced Suraiya to Dev Anand. He said, 'This is the new hero of our film.' Before anyone else could give more information, Dev Anand introduced himself, 'Everyone here calls me Dev. What would you say?' And Dev Anand was looking at Suraiya. Suraiya said, 'What are you looking at?' Dev Anand said, 'I have forgotten something in you. Everyone here calls me Dev. What would you say?' Suraiya replied, 'God.' After such a short conversation, both of them got busy with the shooting of the film, but this small talk of theirs became the beginning of a close relationship. Dev Anand and Suraiya started liking each other during the shooting of the film. Both were looking for each other on the sets. Both call each other Ladka. Dev Anand called Suraiya 'Nozi' and Suraiya called him 'Steve'. This love affair between the two grew from a blooming bud into a fragrant blooming flower. Its fragrance reached Suraiya's little one. Then what was the result of this love affair is public knowledge. Suraiya lived with his mother, maternal uncle and younger sister. Initially, Dev Anand used to go to her house for dinner, but when Nani came to know about their affair, she banned Dev Anand from coming home. Nani did not approve of Suraiya marrying a young man of another religion. For this reason, he was strongly opposed to this relationship. In 1950, Dev Anand and Suraiya signed two films together, 'Sanam' and 'Jeet', but during the shooting of both films, Suraiya's younger sister was present with them on the sets of the film. He also asked the director to remove romantic scenes from the film. Then this romantic relationship faded and the life of Bharvasant lovers fell into autumn. Then Nani, who was angry with Dev, refused to even talk to Suraiya in general. Do lovebirds ever believe anyone? Instead of talking, Dev and Suraiya continued to communicate their feelings to each other through letters. The exchange of letters also ended after the shooting of the film. Both decided to get married, but due to Nani, that too could not be consummated and the two separated forever. The reason was that Suraiya could never gather the courage to go against her family. Suraiya remained unmarried from Devsaheb's life. }
