There is no sense in not preserving the parents throughout life and spending a lot of money on them after death in twelve or thirteen years. 'First I will get married.' There was a dispute between Ganesha and Kartikeya. Calling both of them, Shiva-Parvati said to avoid the matter, 'Both of you are equally dear to us. Shiva saw Ganesha sitting and said 'You are still sitting here. Kartikeya would have reached nowhere. 'Get up and run' goes round and round in the father's mind. Even so, one should think before doing any big work' Shiva said 'Is your point also true that doing something without thinking means expecting boons without good penance. He didn't even think that Kartikeya would come by then' suddenly a thought flashed in his mind. Ganesha ran to bathe. Prepared two seats. Parents were placed on both and worshiped. Then circumambulated Shivparvati seven times. Shiva said 'Ganesha what is he doing?' 'You sit on this seat until I tell you' Parveeti said, 'but why are you doing this, then explain to us', Ganesh said, 'I will tell you after completing the ceremony, but till then I request you to cooperate.' Shiva-Parvati kept watching the ritual of Ganesha. Finally said that 'I have completed the circumambulation of the earth. Get me married now. It is said in the scriptures that the son who worships his parents and circumambulates him gets access to the fruits of earth rotation.' One who goes on a pilgrimage leaving his parents at home does not attain full merit. At the feet of the parents are the shrines. Parvati said 'O son, you have spoken the truth. Your intellect is pure. He who has intelligence also has strength. All the qualities of an excellent son are in you.' Ganesha's wisdom led him to marry Prajapati Vishwarupa, divinely gifted and all-round beautiful daughters with Riddhi and Siddhi.
