Beauty: Regular combing is essential to keep hair healthy

Dr. The Pratiksha Jain Jakal untied hair trend is being picked up not only among women but also among men. Due to this, people comb their hair by hand instead of combing it daily. However, this can have several disadvantages. If the hair is not combed regularly, various problems can arise. For example, sebum can accumulate on the scalp, which can block hair follicles resulting in hair growth inhibition and scalp inflammation. If the comb is not rotated regularly, the hair can get tangled and result in problems like hair breakage, hair fall and split ends. Combing once or twice a day helps evenly distribute the natural oils (sebum) produced by the scalp. Sebum acts as a natural conditioner, so it keeps the hair hydrated. This not only makes the hair shiny but also keeps it smooth. ac When the comb is rotated in the head, it increases the blood circulation in the scalp. This provides sufficient nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles, which are essential for healthy hair growth. It is also helpful in removing dead skin cells and dirt etc. This reduces the risk of stroke and other cranial conditions. Keep in mind • Combing should be done at least twice a day. But if you have curly hair, you can comb it once a day. • Do not comb wet hair as this increases the chances of hair breakage. Do not comb your hair immediately after applying the oil. • Frequent combing of an oily scalp causes oil to spread to the hair. But if your scalp is dry then comb gently. • It is better to use a wooden comb instead of a plastic one, as it is gentler on the scalp than a plastic one. However, a soft-toothed brush should be used on a sensitive scalp as it increases blood flow.
