Fast bowler Mohammad Shami will not be part of the Indian team on the Australia tour. Indian Test captain Rohit Sharma has given a major update on the fast bowler's fitness. Rohit had said in Bengaluru before the Test against New Zealand that he could not take an injured Shami to Australia.
When asked about Shami's fitness, the 37-year-old Indian captain said – 'It is difficult to make a decision about Shami for the Australia series. He has a swollen knee, which has caused him to fall back a bit and have to start over. It is in NCA. We don't want to take Shami to Australia who is not fully prepared. Then let's see what happens.'
India's tour of Australia, also known as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, will begin on November 22. This time, Team India is going to play a series of 5 Test matches on the tour of Australia.
