Rohit Said- We Can't Take Unfit Shami To Australia: Said- We Want Him 100% Fit; Test series will start from 22nd November

Fast bowler Mohammad Shami will not be part of the Indian team on the Australia tour. Indian Test captain Rohit Sharma has given a major update on the fast bowler's fitness. Rohit had said in Bengaluru before the Test against New Zealand that he could not take an injured Shami to Australia.

When asked about Shami's fitness, the 37-year-old Indian captain said – 'It is difficult to make a decision about Shami for the Australia series. He has a swollen knee, which has caused him to fall back a bit and have to start over. It is in NCA. We don't want to take Shami to Australia who is not fully prepared. Then let's see what happens.'

India's tour of Australia, also known as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, will begin on November 22. This time, Team India is going to play a series of 5 Test matches on the tour of Australia.

Shami was injured in the ODI World Cup Mohammad Shami was injured last year during the ODI World Cup 2023 hosted by India. He played his last international match against Australia in Ahmedabad. This was the final match of the World Cup.

He has played 64 Test matches for India. Shami has 229 Test wickets to his name.

Australia have not beaten India since 2014-15 The Australian team could not beat India in the last 4 series. The team's last win was in the 2014–15 season. Then the Australian team led by Smith defeated India 2-1. After which the Indian team has won all the four series.
