Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on issues like Swami Vivekananda's 162nd birth anniversary, NCC Day, Guyana Yatra, library in the 116th episode of Mann Ki Baat radio show on Sunday.
Like last time, PM Modi said – We have to explain to the people again and again that there is no provision of digital arrest in the government. This is a blatant lie and a conspiracy to deceive people.
In the 115th episode, he talks about adopting three steps to avoid fraud like digital arrest: wait, think and act.
PM said on NCC Day that when we hear the name of NCC, we remember our school and college days. Having been an NCC cadet myself, I can confidently say that the experiences gained from it have been invaluable to me.
PM Modi spoke on these issues in Mann Ki Baat
- On National Cadet Corps (NCC): By 2024, more than 20 lakh youths have joined NCC. NCC provision has been made in 5 thousand new schools and colleges as compared to earlier. Earlier the number of girls in NCC was only 25%. Now it has increased to about 40%, which is a big change. NCC develops discipline, leadership and spirit of service among the youth. Whenever a calamity strikes, be it flood, earthquake or any other calamity, NCC cadets are always there to help.
- On Swami Vivekananda's Birth Anniversary and Youth Day: 2025 will be celebrated as the 162nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and preparations are being made to celebrate it in a special way. On the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Mahakumbha of Youth Ideas will be held on January 11-12 at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi. It has been named 'Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue'. A special campaign will also be launched to connect 1 lakh such new youth with politics in the country.
- On social functions of youth: Some youths have tried to solve various problems by forming groups. Veerendra from Lucknow has helped senior citizens to solve their digital life certificate related issues. This made things a lot easier. The elderly no longer need to go to the bank. I want to say that the youth should help the elders to avoid technological crimes and help them to adopt safe digital behavior.
- On ongoing library initiatives in the country: A children's library named 'Prakriti Arivagam' has become a center of creativity and education in Chennai. Food for Thought Foundation has built several libraries in Hyderabad. There is also talk of an experimental library in Gopalganj, Bihar. In which the youth of 12 villages are getting help.
- On PM's visit to Guyana: A 'mini India' also lives in Guyana, thousands of kilometers away from India. About 180 years ago, people from India were moved to Guyana for farming and other work. Today in Guyana people of Indian origin are leading the country in every sphere like politics, business, education and culture.
Mann Ki Baat program is broadcast in 22 languages
Apart from 22 Indian languages and 29 dialects, Mann Ki Baat is also broadcast in 11 foreign languages. These include French, Chinese, Indonesian, Tibetan, Burmese, Balochi, Arabic, Pashto, Persian, Dari and Swahili.
Mann Ki Baat is broadcast through more than 500 broadcasting stations of All India Radio. The first episode had a time limit of 14 minutes. It was increased to 30 minutes in June 2015.
