Paris Paralympics opening ceremony today: Over 100 Indian team members to participate, Sumit and Bhagyashree India's flag bearer

The Paris Paralympics are starting today i.e. 28th August. The event will run till September 8. Over a hundred members of the Indian contingent, including 52 athletes, will participate in the opening ceremony of the Paris Paralympics on Wednesday. For the first time in the history of the Games, the ceremony will be held outside the stadium. The opening ceremony will take place on the Champs Elysees and Place de la Concorde. Players who have matches on Thursday will not participate in the Parade of Nations. In which a shooting team of 10 members is involved. Javelin thrower Sumit and shot put player Bhagyashree will be the flag bearers Indian Paralympic Committee President Devendra Jhazdia said, “Athletes who will play the match on August 29 will not participate in the opening ceremony. The shooting team will not participate in the Parade of Nations, which will feature 106 members of India, including 52 players and 54 officials. Javelin thrower Sumit Antill (F-64) and shot putter Bhagyashree Jadhav (F-34) will be the flag bearers for India.” 84 Indian athletes to participate in Paris Paralympics will last 11 days. Indian athletes are also taking part in this event. 84 Indian athletes 95 officials have also gone along with them.India's participation in the event will begin with the Para Badminton Mixed Doubles Group Stage and the Women's Singles Group Stage on August 29. .The three events will start tomorrow at 12 noon.India's team hopes to bring home a record 19 medals, including 5 golds, in the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics A total of 25 medals are to be won.
