Pakistan's lowest rating in 59 years in ICC Test rankings: Slips to eighth, hurt by series loss to Bangladesh

The Pakistan team has slipped to eighth in the ICC Test rankings. They lost 2 places due to the series loss against Bangladesh. Currently Pakistan has 76 rating points. This is the lowest rating by a Pakistani team since 1965. In the ranking announced on Wednesday, the Indian team is at the second position with 120 points while Australia (124 points) is at the top. The team lost the series against Bangladesh for the first time in the history of Test cricket. Bangladesh swept the 2-match series against Pakistan 2-0. The hosts lost the first Test by 10 wickets and the second Test by 6 wickets. However, winning the series did not benefit Bangladesh much in the rankings. The team is in ninth place with 66 rating points, gaining 13 rating points. Sri Lanka and West Indies benefit Pakistan's poor performance has benefited the Sri Lanka and West Indies teams. Both teams have moved up one place each in the rankings. Sri Lanka is at number six with 83 rating points. While West Indies is at number seven with 77 rating points. No change in top-5 team rankings There has been no change in the position of the top-5 teams in the latest ICC Test rankings. As before, Australia is at the first position with 124 rating points, India is at the second position with 120 rating points, England is at the third position with 108 rating points, South Africa is at the fourth position with 104 rating points and New Zealand is at the fourth position. Ranked fifth with 96 rating points.
