The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India-A squad for the tour of Australia. Ishan Kishan, who was left out of Team India, has also been included in the 15-member squad.
Rituraj Gaikwad has been entrusted to lead the team. A five-match Test series is scheduled to be played between India and Australia's senior team from November 22 and before that the A team of both the teams will play two matches.
India-A will play two first-class matches against Australia-A in McCoy and Melbourne, followed by an intra-squad match against the senior Indian team in Perth. The first Test between India and Australia's A team will be played from October 31 to November 3, while the second Test will be played from November 7 to 10. After this, intra squad matches will be played in Perth between November 15 and 17.
Ishan was dropped from the central contract in 2024 In February 2024, Ishan was dropped from BCCI's central contract for not prioritizing domestic cricket. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah then warned cricketers not playing in Team India that cricketers who are out of the team should participate in domestic cricket to get a place in the national team.
Ishan Kishan played his last match for India in December 2023.
Ishan out of Team India since December last year Ishan Kishan withdrew his name after joining the team on the tour of South Africa in December last year. He took a break from the national team due to personal reasons. Ishan did not play any competitive cricket for 2 months and now he has made a comeback from the DY Patil T-20 tournament in February.
Ishan was also not selected in the squad for the Test series against England. On the question of his exclusion, head coach Rahul Dravid said that Ishan has not made himself available yet. If he wants to make a comeback, he will have to perform well in domestic cricket.
Ishan is yet to play a single Ranji Trophy match for his home team Jharkhand. On the other hand, he started practicing with the Pandya brothers (Krunal and Hardik) in Baroda.
Ishan is leading the Jharkhand team in the Ranji Trophy Ishan is currently captaining the Jharkhand team in the Ranji Trophy. Ishan participated in the Duleep Trophy and was also part of the Rest of India team against Mumbai in the Irani Cup.
