Sambhal Jama Masjid survey, 2 dead: Mob sets police vehicles on fire, stones pelted again in SP MP Burke's area

On November 24, Sunday morning, stones were pelted at the Sambhal Jama Masjid during the survey. The commotion escalated to such an extent that the police first fired tear gas shells and then lathi-charged the crowd to disperse it. The situation has been out of control for several hours. Incidents of stone pelting are happening everywhere in the streets. The enraged mob set several vehicles on fire. Many policemen including SP have been injured in stone pelting. The Deputy Collector has also been injured. A policeman was also shot.

Two youths were killed in this violence. SP Sambhal has confirmed this to Bhaskar. The youth's family claims that he died due to a CO bullet. As soon as the news of the death of two people spread here, the city was once again tense. An incident of stone pelting has come to light in SP MP Burke's area. After the violence, DIG and IG have reached the spot.

Here in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the BJP has created a ruckus in Sambhal. So that there is no discussion of election rigging. A youth lost his life in the violence. Meanwhile, the local team said that 32-year-old Naeem was killed in the violence. The family alleges that the CO died of bullet injuries. However, the police are yet to confirm any death in Sambhal.

In fact, a team along with DM-SP reached Jama Masjid for survey at 6.30 am. Seeing the team, the people of the Muslim community got angry. In no time more than two thousand people reached outside the Jama Masjid. The crowd was determined to get inside the mosque.

When the police tried to stop them, some people pelted stones. After this there was a stampede like situation. The police had to flee when the stone pelting started suddenly.

The court asked to conduct a survey and submit a report within a week The team reached the Jama Masjid for the second time in 5 days. Earlier, the survey was conducted on November 19. On the same day i.e. on November 19, a court hearing was held on the petition of the Hindu party regarding the conversion of the Sambhal Shahi Jama Masjid into Sri Harihar Mandir. The court has ordered to survey the mosque and submit a report within a week. The report is scheduled to be submitted on November 26. The hearing in this regard will be held on November 29.

Thousands of people reached the spot as soon as they got the information about the mosque survey.

The agitated mob set fire to several vehicles parked on the road. Most of them were government vehicles.

A stampede broke out after the police lathi-charged and released tear gas cells. People fled leaving their slippers and shoes on the road.

Now know what the whole matter is… The case of Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal reached the court. Mahant Rishi Raj Giri Maharaj of Kailadevi temple filed the petition in the civil court on November 19 at 1.30 pm. The court of Civil Judge Senior Division Aditya Singh gave the order in two and a half hours. Said – there will be a survey of the mosque. Get video and photography done and file report within 7 days.

The court appointed an advocate commissioner. Just 2 hours after receiving the order at 4 pm the same day, the team reached Jama Masjid for the survey at 6:15 pm. DM Rajendra Pansia and SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi also stayed with. After 2 hours of survey, the team came out around 8 pm.

Mahant Rishi Raj Giri claimed that Shahi Jama Masjid is Sri Harihar Mandir. There are many evidences of a temple in the mosque. Here Lord Vishnu's Dashavatar Kalki is going to incarnate. Shahi Jama Masjid is situated in Kot East of Sadar Kotwali area.

Several vehicles were set on fire by the enraged mob.

The court made Ramesh Singh Raghav the advocate commissioner Ramesh Singh Raghav was made Advocate Commissioner on behalf of the Court. At the same time a five-member committee was constituted by the administration to accompany the survey team. The survey team took videos and photos inside the mosque. Harishankar Jain's son and Supreme Court lawyer Vishnu Shankar was also inside the mosque. Petitioner Mahant Rishi Raj Giri was not allowed into the mosque. They stood outside till the survey was done.

Vehicles were set on fire at many places.

The Muslim side said – no evidence was found from the mosque Chairman of Shahi Jama Masjid Committee Zafar Ali Advocate said after the survey, 'The team has surveyed every part of Jama Masjid. We were also with the team. We cooperated with them. We were given notice. No evidence has yet been found in the survey. Now it will be assumed that this is only Jama Masjid. The survey lasted for two hours. The court had ordered to conduct the survey within seven days. But, the advocate commissioner explained his compulsion that his daughter is married. That is why he cannot come. Four or five of us from the plaintiff, commissioner, SDM, SP and the committee were in the court.

Advocate Commissioner Ramesh Singh Raghav said – now only video-photography has been done, our survey is pending, no measurement has been done, nothing has been done.

The survey was conducted on November 19 at the request of the Hindu party The Hindu party filed a petition in the Sambhal District Court on November 19. In the 95-page petition, the Hindu party has relied on two books and a report. It includes the Babarnama, the In-e-Akbari book and a 150-year-old report by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

The Sambhal Civil Court ordered the Commissioner to conduct the survey on the same day. A few hours after this order, the commissioner's team conducted the survey. The survey report has to be submitted within a week. The Jama Masjid party has filed an appeal against this order of the civil court. The next hearing of this case will be on November 29.

The team along with the police force reached the mosque at 6.15 pm for the survey.
