Monsoon tracker in the country: 450 villages in UP inundated, Ganga floods in Bihar; 3 dead due to floods in Bengal, Mamata said – these floods are the result of central government's negligence

Heavy rains in Kanpur have flooded many houses.

Over 450 villages in 21 districts are under flood-like conditions due to incessant rains in UP. Ganga, Yamuna, Ghaghra, Sharda, Sarayu rivers have flooded. 2000 houses of Kanpur have been submerged in flood. Many houses collapsed. 10 thousand people have been saved.

On the other hand, the water level of Ganga in Patna is continuously increasing. In Vaishali too, the overflowing of the Ganges has led to flood waters receding on the roads of Raghopur Diara. 37 roads including NH-5 (India-Tibet) have been closed due to rain in Himachal Pradesh.

West Bengal also has flood like situation in many districts. In which 3 people have died. 2.5 lakh people are affected. CM Mamata Banerjee said – this is a conspiracy of the Centre. These floods are the result of negligence of the central government.

This water does not belong to Bengal, it belongs to Jharkhand. Jharkhand border will be closed for 3 days. This water is released from Damodar Valley Corporation Dam. The control of DVC is in the hands of the Centre. He has released water in Bengal.

Floods in Bihar's Kaimur, NH-19 flooded

There is a surge in the Karamansa river in Bihar's Kaimur. Due to which the road connecting Kaimur with Uttar Pradesh has been flooded. Kaimur's contact with Uttar Pradesh has been disrupted. Flood waters are also flowing on NH-19 in Chhapra. The bridge approach in Supaul was washed away in the Kosi river, leaving Darbhanga-Madhubani villages of Supaul unconnected.

Temperatures in Delhi dropped to 21.1 degrees, the lowest in 14 years in September

Delhi-NCR recorded a minimum temperature of 21.1 degrees Celsius on Thursday due to the ongoing rains for the past few days. This is the lowest temperature recorded in September in the last 14 years.

Maithon dam overflows due to rain in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. Its doors have been opened.

Sirohi in Rajasthan was rained with wind. The road was blocked due to fallen trees.

There is no heavy rain alert anywhere on September 21

  • The Meteorological Department has not issued any heavy or very heavy rainfall alert in any state on September 21.
  • Lightning may occur at some places in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
  • Sky will remain cloudy in Delhi. It may also rain. The maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to be around 31 degree Celsius.

This time monsoon will be active for 16 days more than usual

  • Normally, Monsoon starts departing West Rajasthan after September 18, but this time it is likely to remain active for about 16 more days.
  • This means that the country may receive heavy rainfall till the end of September. According to the private weather agency Skymet, rains are likely in October after the departure of monsoon.
  • According to the Meteorological Department, 108 percent or 8 percent more rain has been received so far this monsoon. However, almost a fourth of the country i.e. 185 districts (26%) are under drought conditions.
  • There are 68 districts that have received 60% of the normal rainfall, 19 of which are in Rajasthan alone. The most affected are Uttar Pradesh (30 districts), Bihar (25), Jharkhand (11), Odisha (11), Punjab (15).

Reason for Monsoon to remain active for 16 more days

  • According to the Meteorological Department, a depression has formed over North-West Uttar Pradesh. It is moving towards Uttarakhand. It will also affect some parts of Himachal Pradesh.
  • There is a new low pressure area near South Bangladesh, which will turn into a depression in 2 days. This will be the fourth depression of the season. Due to which there will be rain in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
