A video from Bangladesh is going viral on social media. In this video, a man is seen hitting some women with a stick.
- It is being claimed that these women are Hindus and are being attacked for not wearing a veil.
- Many verified and non-verified users are also expressing their concern by posting this video on X, that a radical Islamic system like Afghanistan might be implemented in Bangladesh.

What is the truth of viral videos?
We searched pages related to Islamic Media TV with watermarks provided on social media to find out the authenticity of viral videos. We found this video on a Facebook page called Islamic Media TV. This video was uploaded on 30 August 2024.
By the time the news was written, 18 thousand people had shared it. When there were more than 8 thousand comments on the video. One thing was clear that this video is from Bangladesh and it has been shared from Bangladesh's own Facebook page.

However, it was not as claimed that Hindu women were attacked for not wearing the veil. To investigate further, we reverse-searched the video's keyframes on Google Images. Here we found an article from Bangladeshi news channel ournewsbd.com.

- The article said that three videos related to the beating of sex workers in Dhaka have gone viral. These videos are from different places of Dhaka. (Archived version of article)
It is clear that the authenticity of the video is contrary to the claim. The video is being shared with communal claims, but according to Bangladeshi media, the video is related to the beating of sex workers in Dhaka.
