Shaheen Shah Afridi out of Pakistan playing XI: Abrar, Hamza return for second Test against Bangladesh

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the 12-member squad for the second Test against Bangladesh on Thursday. Star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has not got a place in this team. The final Test match of the series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played from Friday, August 30 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Shaheen Afridi spearheaded the pace attack in the first Test match. Fast bowler Mir Hamza and leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed have returned to the Pakistan squad, having missed out on the first Test match of the series. The hosts Pakistan are trailing 0-1 in the two-match series. Afridi was released from the team after the first Test match. Afridi returned home after the first Test match played in Rawalpindi after the birth of his first son. There was no explanation as to why he was not included in the squad for the second Test. Pakistan squad for the second test: Shan Masood (captain), Saeed Shakeel (vice-captain), Abrar Ahmed, Abdullah Shafiq, Babar Azam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Naseem Shah, Sam Ayub and Salman Ali Aga. Bangladesh win first test by 6 wickets Nazmul Hussain Shanto-led Bangladesh team registered a historic 10-wicket win against Pakistan in the first test match. Pakistan did not play an expert spinner in the first Test, which cost them the result. For this reason, leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has been included in the Pakistani team for the second match. Spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehdi Hasan Miraj played an important role in Bangladesh's victory.
