Baba Siddiqui murder case, 5 more accused arrested: Among them two history sheeters, on police remand till October 25; So far 9 arrested, 3 absconding

On October 18, Mumbai Crime Branch arrested 5 more accused in the murder case of NCP (Ajit) group leader and former minister Baba Siddiqui. According to the police, all these armed and helped the main accused. All were produced in court and sent to police remand till October 25.

According to an official, 9 accused have been arrested so far in the Baba Siddiqui murder case. 3 accused are absconding. The five arrested accused were in touch with main conspirator Shubham Lonkar and mastermind Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar. Both of them are still absconding.

The officer said – these arrests have been made from Panvel, Karjat and surrounding areas of Raigad district. Those arrested include Nitin Gautam Sapre (32), Sambhaji Kisan Pardhi (44), Pradeep Dattu Thombre (37), Chetan Dilip Pardhi and Ram Phulchand Kanojia (43). Sapre is from Dombivli. Chetan-Sambhaji hails from Thombre, Ambernath in Thane district and Panvel in Kanojia Raigad.

On the night of October 12, Baba Siddiqui was shot dead outside his son Jeeshan's office. Gangster Lawrence Gang has claimed responsibility for the murder. The gang has blamed Bollywood superstar Salman for Baba's murder. Salman has received death threats through emails.

Key members of Sapre and Kanojia modules According to the Mumbai Police, interrogation of the accused has revealed that Nitin Gautam Sapre and Phulchand Kanojia are the key members of this module. The weapons used in Siddiqui's murder were supplied to the shooters by this module. Arms include foreign made pistols, Tissas-Glock and indigenous made pistols.

According to the police, these weapons were brought from North India. It was delivered in mid-September. This module helped the shooters with money. Absconding accused Shivakumar Gautam and arrested accused Dharamraj Kashyap were with the members of this module in August.

An investigation is underway to find out whether the module helped the shooters practice shooting in Karjat (Mumbai), the official said. The police are now looking into the local network of these accused.

Nitin Gautam Sapre is a history sheeter According to the police, the arrested Nitin Gautam Sapre is a history sheeter. In 2015, he was involved in a murder case. Apart from this, he is also named in attempted murder and Arms Act cases. Sapre has been to jail before. Phool Chand Kanojia is also a history sheeter.

The official said that the crime branch will also investigate whether these five have anything to do with the firing case at Salman Khan's house or not.

The police have also gone up a notch, including Shubham Lonkar and Jeeshan Akhtar. After his arrest he will help these modules to reach high level.

Lookout notice issued against absconding shooters Historysheeters are among the arrested accused, so the police are investigating whether the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) can be imposed on them. Earlier, the police had issued a lookout circular against the absconding shooter Gautam, conspirator Shubham Lonkar and mastermind Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar.
