23 drugs manufactured in Himachal Pradesh do not meet Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) standards.. Its samples have failed. These drugs are used in the treatment of life-threatening diseases like heart attack, blood sugar and cancer.
In September this year, CDSCO and the state drug controller sampled various drug manufacturing companies in the state. CDSCO has shared its report after testing in the lab. 20 out of 49 samples failed in CDSCO's inspection and 3 out of 18 samples failed in Drug Controller's inspection.
These drugs are supplied nationwide. After the sample failed, the drug controller has instructed the pharmaceutical companies of Himachal to recall the stock of medicines.
State Drug Controller Manish Kapoor said that after the CDSCO alert, notices have been given to all pharmaceutical companies. Action will be taken against the companies after receiving the reply.

Samples of drugs for pneumonia and blood sugar also failed Pneumonia drug ceftriaxone, infection drug gentamicin and blood sugar drug Genericart all failed in Paonta Sahib's Zee Laboratory Company. 2 samples of Zar Majra's Innovo Captep Company's Nimesulide, Celebrity Biotech Company's Ciprovin and Makhun Majra's Ariso Pharmaceutical Company's Motocep have failed.
Samples of Promethazine from Kala Amb's Nitin Life Sciences, Bupron SR from Kala Amb's Digital Vision Company, Cefoperazone and Baddi's Piperacillin have failed.
A sample of the Torsemi drug for blood pressure failed Syros Remedies Company's vitamin-B drug Neuropin, Solan-based JM Lab's blood pressure drug Torsemi, Baddi-based Clesta Pharmaceutical Company's diabetes drug Neurochem, Zadamajri Wedsp Pharmaceutical Company's infection medicine Enclave and Baddi-based Trivision Health Care Company's Staple Sample Happy Trypsin also failed.
12 drugs that failed CDSCO tests were manufactured in Solan district. 10 drug samples manufactured in Sirmaur district and one manufactured in Kangra have failed. A large number of pharma companies are operating in Solan and Sirmaur districts. Medicines are supplied from here not only in the country but also abroad.
