OTT Review – The Kandahar Hijack: The story is tight, the work of Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Verma, Pankaj Kapoor is amazing; The actual facts seemed a bit lacking

Director Anubhav Sinha has made his OTT debut with the web series 'IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack'. The series is streamed on Netflix. The 6-episode series stars Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapoor, Vijay Verma, Dia Mirza, Patralekha, Arvind Swamy and Kumud Mishra in lead roles. Frontpage Insights rated the series 3.5 out of 5 stars. What is the story of the series? The story of this series is based on the true incident of December 24, 1999. Five terrorists hijacked Indian Airlines flight IC 814 while en route to New Delhi from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. In which 176 passengers were travelling. Terrorists take the plane to Kandahar via Amritsar, Lahore, Dubai. The passengers were held hostage for seven days. What is the condition of the passengers inside the plane during this period? What happens to their families? What conditions are placed before the government to release these passengers? How is the government forced to accept the terrorists' terms? All this is shown in this series. How is the acting of the star cast? This series has amazing performances by veteran actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Arvind Swamy, Kumud Mishra, Divyandu Bhattacharya. Vijay Verma's style in this series is amazing. He has done a great job in the role of a pilot, while Patralekha looks amazing in the role of an air hostess. Dia Mirza plays the role of an editor​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ or How is the direction? The series is based on a true story that everyone knows what happened during the Kandahar Hijack. Still, director Anubhav Sinha has presented the series in such a way that the inter-decade remains curious to know what will happen next and how? Anubhav Sinha has been completely successful in making the series tight. It takes the audience into a world of adventure, where the audience is forced to watch the series till the end. In this series, it is somewhat surprising that the intervention of the United Nations in rescuing foreign tourists is not shown. How is the music of the series? There doesn't seem to be any scope for singing in this series. That's why we can't even hope for a song in it. But the background of the series is good. The background matches the story. Final verdict, watch or not? Based on a true story, the series' story and strong characters take the audience into a world of adventure. This series is a must watch.
