While building the set, location-weather also needs to be considered Set maker Sujit Sawant says that while designing any set, location-weather also has to be kept in mind. For example, if a film is to be shot near a beach in Goa, a set will be built here that can withstand high winds and rain. Sets designed under water will be those that dissolve easily in water after shooting and do not harm the environment.

Film sets are made from paper, cloth, plywood and thermocol Materials like plywood, thermocol, paper, cloth are used in making sets. If a scene is to be shot in one day, the set is made of cloth, paper or thermocol. When the shooting is 3-4 days or more, the sets are prepared using POP, iron or plywood. Pine wood is mostly used so that it does not rot quickly. Overall, how long a set will last depends on the material the set is made from.

Some sets are blown by ballast. Soft material is used in making such sets, so that no one gets hurt during the blast. After making the set, the color work is done. For example, during the shooting of an ad show, attention is paid to finishing. Such paint is used here, which looks smooth.

Many art directors committed suicide due to non-payment Chaukas Bharadwaj said that earlier the art director used to get a good budget, but suddenly the budget has been cut. Due to which many art directors have committed suicide.

He further said – In our field, a fixed budget is initially given by the production team. After the shooting is over, the payment comes from the production. We do all the work first at our own expense. Producers want the best work from us. Under this pressure we spend more than the fixed budget, for which we often do not get paid. As a result the art director commits suicide due to financial crunch. Many such cases have been seen recently.
