Snow in 3 states, dense fog in 9: 15 cities of MP-Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh see temperature below 10 degrees for second consecutive day

Snowfall has started in Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh along with Jammu and Kashmir. Snowfall occurred near Rohtang Pass and Atal Tunnel in Himachal's Kullu district on Sunday.

Meanwhile, snowfall occurred in Kupwara, Gulmarg, Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir and Leh in Ladakh on Sunday. Snowfall is predicted in the three states on Monday as well.

The Meteorological Department has also predicted dense fog in 8 states of the country. It includes Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.

Along with the northern states, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan are also getting colder. Ambikapur in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh recorded temperatures below 10 degrees for the second consecutive day at 7 places each.

Kashmir's Sonmarg recorded a drop in minimum temperature due to snowfall.

There was fog in Gurugram, Haryana on Sunday morning. Due to which the trains were delayed.

MP-Rajasthan increased in cold due to icy winds

  • Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are getting colder due to icy winds coming from the mountains due to melting snow and cold winds blowing 12 km above the surface, meteorologists said.
  • There is no hope of getting relief from this cold for the next two-three days. Cold force will continue in the areas where the temperature is below 10 degrees.

Heavy rains in the north east, less winters in the south

  • The Meteorological Department has said that the period of heavy rain will continue in the North Eastern states. Heavy rain with strong winds and lightning is expected in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on Friday.
  • The effect of cold is less in the states of South India than the states of North India. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala have been receiving heavy rains for the past one week. Rain has stopped here since Thursday night. The Meteorological Department has said that the states of South India may receive rain from November 25.
