Question- What kind of precautions should be taken after bathing on Chhath Ghat? Answer– Bathing in a lake or river during Chhath is of special importance. Thousands of people bathe together with faith at Chhath Ghat. Nowadays most of the lakes and rivers have become highly polluted. Bathing in such water increases the risk of skin infections, including eye, nose and ear infections. Physician Dr. Urvi Maheshwari says, we should avoid bathing in contaminated water. If you are bathing in a lake or river, be careful that the water does not enter the body through the mouth, nose or ears. Also, after bathing, one should bathe again with clean water. This can avoid the risk of infection.

Question- What things should the devotees take care of after Chhath Puja? Answer- Women who fast during Chhath Vrat fast for 3 days without food or drink. In such a condition, the body is at the highest risk of dehydration. Apart from this, metabolism also slows down due to not eating for many days. In such a situation, after a long fast, one should avoid eating too much at once. This can spoil your health. Apart from this, junk food and fast food should not be eaten. Nutritionist Dr. Amrita Mishra says, coconut water and lemon water should be consumed regularly for a few days after fasting. Which will keep you hydrated. Apart from this, eat easily digestible foods like fruits, steamed vegetables or light soups. This will help to gradually harmonize the digestive system.

Question- If a person drowns in water, what are the first aid measures that can be taken? Answer: There are reports of people drowning at Chhath Ghat due to overcrowding. In such a situation, if there is a delay in getting administrative help, you can help people yourself. Follow these steps for this. If you know how to swim, first pull out the drowning person with the help of a rope and clothes. After this, if anything is stuck in the person's mouth or nose, get it out. If there is no pulse or breathing, give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to the drowning person. Apart from this, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can also be given. This is an emergency treatment, which is done when someone has stopped breathing or beating. CPR can be very helpful in saving a drowning person's life. Doing so may return the heart beat and resume breathing. If the person can cough or speak, encourage them to do so. If a drowning person's stomach is bloated, it is quite possible that water entered his stomach while drowning. In such a situation, immediately lay the person on his stomach and place a pillow or cloth under his stomach. After this, gently press on the lower back and expel the water. After relief, put the person back on his back and take him to the nearest hospital immediately. For this, use whatever resources are available locally. Or call 108 or 102 and get an ambulance.
