On his way to Rae Bareli, Rahul visited the Hanumanji temple on the way. Aarti was performed after applying Tilak

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has reached Lucknow. They have left for Rae Bareli by road from the airport. This is Rahul's third visit to his parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli and fifth to UP after the Lok Sabha elections.

He will participate in various events including the inauguration of Shaheed Chowk in Rae Bareli. Amethi MP Kishori Lal Sharma will also accompany him.

Rahul met the activists at Lucknow airport.

Amidst the Maharashtra-Jharkhand assembly elections and the by-elections to the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, many political speculations are rife over Rahul's sudden visit to UP. Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda to Bhaskar Said, 'Rahul will attend district committee meeting in Rae Bareli.'

Both the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition are from UP. After winning the election from Varanasi, Modi has visited his parliamentary constituency twice.
