Defense Minister-Army Chief celebrates Diwali with troops in Assam: Soldiers distribute sweets, burst crackers at LOC-Attari border; Air Chief Marshal reached Jammu and Kashmir

Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reached Tezpur in Assam on Wednesday evening. Here he celebrated Diwali and had dinner with army personnel at Meghna Stadium.

At the LOC and Attari border, male and female soldiers distributed sweets, lit candles and burst firecrackers. Soldiers also danced vigorously on Diwali at the LOC.

Meanwhile, Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh reached Jammu and Kashmir. He met the jawans and wished them a happy Diwali and had breakfast with them.

Apart from this, CDS General Anil Chauhan is celebrating Diwali with the soldiers stationed in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh Tripathi celebrates the festival with naval personnel in Porbandar, Gujarat.

PM Modi used to celebrate Diwali with the army every year. This time he is on a trip to Gujarat on Diwali. In such a situation, the three army chiefs and CDS reached different places and celebrated Diwali with the soldiers.

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh arrived in Jammu and Kashmir. He met the soldiers and wished them Happy Diwali.

Rajnath said in Tezpur – He wanted to go to Tawang but God sent him here

Rajnath Singh in his address said that I consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to be among you (soldiers) on the occasion of Diwali. I had to go to Tawang in Arunachal today. There was also to eat with the soldiers, but perhaps God did not approve of this. He wanted me to attend a dinner with brave soldiers in Tezpur.

He said that the happiness of any festival increases when it is celebrated with family. The bigger the family, the bigger the happiness. So I try to celebrate Diwali with my big family, my armed forces family. That is why I am celebrating Diwali with you in Tezpur this year.

A consensus was reached to resolve the ground situation on the LAC Rajnath Singh said that you know there is a major border related incident on LAC. Talks at the diplomatic and military levels had been going on for a long time to resolve the conflict between India and China over some areas on the LAC.

He said that after our efforts we reached a consensus to resolve the situation on LAC and we were successful in that. This is a really big event. I can strongly claim that we have achieved this success because of your courage and discipline.

The Defense Minister said that I would like to say that mutual communication with China has become possible because everyone has felt your (army's) bravery. We want to continue to restore peace through consensus.

We can change our friends, but not our neighbors Rajnath Singh said that former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee used to say that we should remember that we can change our friends, but not our neighbours. We want to have good relations with our neighbors. This is the clear policy of India.

He said that sometimes a situation arises that we have to fight to secure our borders. Keeping in mind the interests of our armed forces, the government has tried to make all possible efforts to restore peace.

Year 2023: PM Modi 10th Diwali with soldiers, says – Where Indian Army is, that place is not less than a temple

In the year 2023, PM Modi celebrated Diwali with the Lepcha jawans of Himachal Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with jawans for the 10th consecutive year in the year 2023. He reached Lepcha in Himachal. Located in Lahaul-Spiti district, Lepcha Checkpost is situated at a height of about 2 km from the Chinese border. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Army personnel are deployed on the frontline in this post.

After reaching Lepcha, PM Modi wrote in X post – I have come to celebrate Diwali with brave soldiers in Lepcha of Himachal Pradesh. Here he said that the place where the Indian Army is stationed is no less than a temple.
