Parenting: If…if! Diwali does not become fun for children as a punishment

As the festivities of Vali have begun, children have enthusiastically started preparing to burst crackers on the day of Diwali. The festival brings with it a lot of happiness and excitement, but if adequate precautions are not taken while bursting the firecrackers, the joyous days can lead to trouble. To prevent this from happening, special care must be taken when children are bursting firecrackers and some important tips must be followed. Don't Leave Toddlers Alone Toddlers are very fickle and rarely sit still. Running after one thing or another, these children easily disappear from our sight. During the time of Diwali, it is necessary to take care of your little one. Make sure that your child does not come in contact with any source of fire like candles, lamps, crackers, matchsticks. It is best to keep this out of your child's reach to avoid any accidents. Keep children away from excessive noise Children should avoid spending too much time outdoors during firecrackers and should be exposed to the smoke and noise of firecrackers as little as possible. Children's ears are sensitive and cannot tolerate loud noise for long. You can make them wear lightweight earmuffs and face masks to reduce the damage caused by smoke and noise. Excess smoke can cause nausea, headaches, and in some cases the risk of asthma and lung infections. Choosing the Right Clothes Don't dress your baby in very loose or baggy clothes during Diwali as it can easily catch fire. Do not buy clothes that catch fire easily. For example, stay away from silk and polyester clothes. Try to dress children in loose and cotton clothes, so that they can play Diwali without any worries. Make sure that your child wears shoes instead of slippers when going out during the fireworks display. Firecrackers burning nearby can cause injury to bare feet. Wear a special mask before Diwali pollution increases a lot. In such a situation, the health of children has to be taken special care. When a lot of firecrackers are burst during Diwali, the smoke from them can be harmful for children. So, keep kids wearing masks all the time and celebrate Diwali with joy. Caution in eating and drinking Children eat anything on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Parents may not pay attention to them, due to which their health may deteriorate. So, keep in mind that only nutritious food should be fed to them on this festival. So that they stay safe and healthy.
