Monsoon has departed from most parts of the country, but the impact of rains remains. Due to heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, CM MK Stalin has ordered holiday in all schools-colleges in 4 districts till October 15.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is an alert of heavy rain in the state for the next 4 days. Heavy rain alert in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu today. Eight flights to and from Chennai from Bengaluru, Andaman, New Delhi and Muscat have been cancelled.
Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and South Indian states are receiving light to heavy rains. According to the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area has turned into a depression in Madhya Pradesh.
Due to which it is raining in many parts of the state. Along with this, the effect of mild cold has also started appearing at night time. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of cold will further increase in Madhya Pradesh from October 20. However, the day temperature will be between 33-34 degrees Celsius. In the last week of October, there is a possibility of a big drop in temperature near Diwali.
Monsoon will leave Chhattisgarh completely in the next two days. According to the Meteorological Department, the night temperature will drop. North-easterly winds have covered large parts of Chhattisgarh.

Heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh for next three days The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in Andhra Pradesh till October 17. Due to this, a low pressure will be created in the south-east of the Bay of Bengal. Lightning warning has also been issued in coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Yanam. Wind will also blow here at a speed of 60 km per hour. Chittoor, Kurnool, Cuddapah and Anantapur districts are on heavy rain alert.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held a teleconference with District Collectors, officials and ministers regarding the weather situation and their preparations to deal with it. Phase I NT Pollution Plan Active in Delhi-NCR
Air Quality Index (AQI) remains poor in Delhi NCR. Due to this, Stage-1 Graded Response Action Plan (GRAPE) is being implemented in all cities of NCR including Noida from 8 am on Monday. The decision was taken after a meeting of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
Air quality index in Delhi-NCR is between 201 to 300. In such a situation, Stage-1 is being implemented. Under this, generators have been banned in factories. Also, construction work has also been banned.
As the level of pollution increases, so will the restrictions. If it is between 301 to 400 then its second phase will be applicable. If the AQI is between 401 and 450, the third phase will be monitored. If the AQI is more than 450, restrictions will be imposed in the fourth stage. A copy of this order has been sent to all NCR officials and district administration.
These restrictions and precautions
- All types of construction materials must be covered. Water should be sprinkled on the roads.
- Anti-smog guns should be used at major intersections in the city.
- No kind of garbage etc. will be burnt in open area.
- Traffic jams on roads should be controlled. Maximum penalty should be levied on polluting vehicles.
- Illegal stone crushers and other constructions should be banned in the city.
- The hot mix plant should be shut down. Generators should be banned.
- Ban on tandoor in hotel restaurant.
- Diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years are banned.
