The New Zealand squad for the Test series against India has been announced. Tom Latham has been made captain for the 3-match series. He will be leading the team for the first time after becoming the full-time captain.
Mark Chapman has been given a chance in the squad announced on Tuesday night, while Ish Sodhi returns for the second and third Tests. Along with this, former captain Kane Williamson has been included in the team despite being injured. The 3 Test series between India and New Zealand is starting from 16th October. The first match will be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Mark Chapman got his chance in the Test team for the first time Batting all-rounder Mark Chapman has been included in the Test squad for the first time. He was selected as a replacement for the injured Williamson. Chapman averages 42.81 in first class cricket, including 6 centuries. He has scored 2954 runs in 44 matches.
Chapman scored 245 runs at an average of 40 in three Aces Plunkett Shield matches last summer season. This included a 123 against the Otago Vaults in Dunedin in February.
Mark Chapman scored 114 against India-A at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in 2020.
Selection of Michael Bracewell for the first Test All-rounder Michael Bracewell has been named in the squad for the first Test to be played in Bengaluru from October 16. She will return home for the birth of her second child. Ish Sodhi will replace him in the second and third Tests.
