Producer Vasu Bhagnani flees to London: Bade Mian Chhote Mian director's 7.3 crore non-payment case takes a serious turn, money tussle with Netflix also comes to light

Vasu Bhagnani, the founder of Pooja Entertainment and famous filmmaker, has fled to London. This information was given by Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) President B.N. Tiwari has given to 'Frontpage Insights'. B.N. Tiwari said that Vasu Bhagnani's huge money transaction with Netflix came out and he fled to London. Tiwari said he did not have much information on the matter but Vasu had transferred some money from Netflix for the film 'BMCM'.

Apart from this, the controversy of non-payment of Rs 7.3 crore to director Ali Abbas Zafar of the Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Mian Chhote Mian, made under Vasu Bhagnani's banner, has also reached the police station.

Along with Jackie Bhagna, son of Pooja Entertainment founder and producer Vasu Bhagna.

Vasu went to file a police complaint against Bhagnani Ali Earlier there were reports that Vasu Bhagnani and Jackie Bhagnani had gone to lodge a police complaint against Ali Abbas Zafar. He has accused the director of misusing subsidy funds received from the Abu Dhabi authorities during the shooting of the film Bade Mian Chhote Mian.

Giving information about this also, B.N. Tiwari said the makers went to file the complaint on September 3, but the police did not register their FIR, as a fraud case was registered against Vasu.

Frontpage Insights also tried to talk to Vasu Bhagnani, his son Jackie Bhagnani and director Ali Abbas Zafar regarding the matter, but so far there has been no response from the trio.

Vasu paid Ali Rs. 7.3 crore payment stopped Earlier, Frontpage Insights had found in his investigation that Vasu Bhagnani had withheld a payment of Rs 7.3 crore to director Ali Abbas Zafar. Ali directed the film 'Bade Mian Chote Mian' under Vasu's banner Pooja Entertainment, for which he is yet to receive payment. Ali Abbas has also complained to the Directors Association about this.

Director Ali Abbas Zafar is known for directing films like 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan', 'Sultan' and 'Tiger Zinda Hai'.

Ali said – the matter belongs to the association When we contacted Ali Abbas Zafar in this matter, he said – Look, this matter belongs to the Directors Association. I can't say anything about this now. Saying this he hung up the phone.

A source close to Ali said – Ali does not want this to come out yet. They fear that if this comes out, their payments will be stopped.

Vasu said – all these useless accusations Bhaskar also tried to know Vasu Bhagnani's side in this matter. Vasu had said – if you get any proof then go ahead. Otherwise publish news against people who are making such baseless allegations.

Vasu started the production company Pooja Entertainment in the name of his wife Pooja Bhagnani in 1995. His first film as a producer was 'Coolie No. 1'.

This is not the first time that a non-payment complaint has been lodged against Vasu. This has happened many times before. Here are some cases..

65 lakh rupees were not paid to the crew members Also in July 2024, there was news about Vasu Bhagnani not paying Rs 65 lakh to the crew members working in his film.

For this the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had to intervene. When he pressured Vasu, he paid the crew members in August last month.

Director Tinu Desai did not pay 27 lakh rupees Apart from this, Vasu has also not paid 27 lakh rupees to Tinu Desai, the director of the Akshay Kumar starrer film 'Mission Raniganj'. Mission Raniganj was released in October last year. Made on a budget of 55 crores, this film could not even recover its budget.
