Commonwealth Gold Medalist Sakshi Malik's autobiography coming soon: Said- My heart opened in this book; The main face of the sexual assault case movement, left wrestling

Haryana wrestler Sakshi Malik's auto-biography 'Witness' will be released later this year. Sakshi Malik himself gave this information on social media platform X. He wrote, 'Excited to share some news. My autobiography is due to be published later this year. I have opened my heart in this book. I am as honest as possible.' Sakshi Malik is the same female wrestler who protested against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at Delhi's Jantar-Mantar. Wants biopic in 2022 After winning the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Sakshi Malik said, “I want a biopic on me, so that people can know how a village girl made her way to an Olympic medal.” Sakshi, who reached the Akhara at the age of 3-4, is a resident of Mokhara village in Rohtak district. He was born on September 3, 1992. The village has a 60-year-old Shankar Akhara, started in 1963 by Madiya Pahlwan. The 89-year-old Madiya is known as Guru Ji (coach) in the village. When Sakshi was 3-4 years old, she used to go to Shankar Akhara with other children. It was probably his first exposure to wrestling. Sakshi started learning wrestling at the age of 12. However, her mother did not want her daughter to become a wrestler. Mother said- Girls used to wear small clothes while wrestling. That's why I didn't like wrestling. I tried to explain to Sakshi that girls who are wrestlers don't get married. Protest against Brij Bhushan started in 2023 Last year, on January 18, 2023, 30 wrestlers started a protest against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Singh alleging sexual harassment. Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia and other wrestlers sat on strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. Meanwhile, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur ended the protest by assuring the formation of a committee. On April 23, they again started dharna at the Jantar-Mantar, registered an FIR against Brij Bhushan and raised questions on the committee itself. On 30 May, Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia reached Haridwar carrying the medal across the Ganges, but were stopped by peasant leader Naresh Tikait. After Sakshi retired from wrestling, on 21 December 2023, Bridge appointed Bhushan's close associate Sanjay as the new president of the WFI. Seeing this, the wrestlers got angry again. Sakshi Malik retired from wrestling the same day, putting his shoes on the table. After this, Bajrang Punia returned his Padma Shri award. He placed this award on the footpath outside the Prime Minister's house. A few days later wrestler Vinesh Phogat returned the Khel Ratna and the Arjuna Award.
