YouTube finally changed the algorithm: teenagers will not see fitness, violence videos as often

YouTube will no longer recommend specific fitness videos for teens. It includes videos showing ideal body and aggression. For this YouTube has made a big change in the algorithm. However, teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 can still find such videos by searching YouTube. But, they won't be motivated to watch the same category of videos over and over again. Usually, YouTube's algorithm recommends similar content to users after the video ends and shows related videos in the sidebar. But this feature will no longer be available for teenagers when they are watching specific types of videos, such as – videos comparing physical characteristics. – Ideal for a specific body type or fitness level. -Videos promoting aggression and violence. YouTube says teenagers are more easily influenced than adults. Especially when they see ideal standards over and over again. However, YouTube's new algorithm will only work if teenagers log in with their correct age. Growing Pressure Forced Algorithm Change YouTube has acknowledged that repeated viewing of such videos can have a negative effect on teenagers. This can create false ideas about themselves in the adolescent's mind. The company said it has decided to change the algorithm on the advice of experts. There were demands all over the world including Europe and America. In May, Ofcom also asked tech companies to improve their algorithms to steer children away from violent content.
