UAE Says – Not With Israel's Plan For Gaza: Separate Palestine Should Be Created After War, Netanyahu Can't Make Decision On Gaza Strip

The UAE said it had no discussions with Israel before announcing plans for Gaza's future.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has said it will not support Israel's post-war plan if it does not create a separate Palestinian state. UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan gave this information on social media.

In fact, Israeli PM Netanyahu announced a plan for Gaza after the war in May. This, he said, would lead to the development of Gaza. The plan was for the period from the end of the war to the year 2035. It was divided into three levels.

According to the plan, there would be a Palestinian government in Gaza under Israeli occupation. It will be overseen by a coalition of Arab countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and Jordan. Israel's plan outlined a number of plans, from investment in Gaza's ports to solar power and electric car production.

Netanyahu has said that since the Palestinian Authority opposes the Jews, Gaza cannot be handed over to them.

UAE said – We have not discussed the future of Gaza The UAE, angered by Netanyahu's plan, has said that the Israeli PM does not have the authority to implement any such plan, nor can he take any other such decision. He made it clear that there were no discussions with the UAE before announcing a new plan for Gaza.

Apart from this, the UAE refused to support any plan that referred to Israel's occupation of the Gaza Strip after the war. “When a Palestinian government is formed in Gaza that is independent and meets the expectations of the people there, we are ready to fully support it,” the UAE foreign ministry said.

UAE demands – There should be a government in the Gaza Strip and West Bank after the war Earlier, the UAE had sought a temporary international mission in Gaza after the end of the war in July. The UAE asked for an official appeal for the mission to be made by the post-war Palestinian government. The mission's task will be to meet the humanitarian needs in the area.

Apart from this, the UAE said that the mission would have to gradually bring together the Gaza Strip and the Israeli-occupied West Bank. A Palestinian Authority government would have to be established in both areas.

His own defense minister against Netanyahu on the future of Gaza After Netanyahu announced a plan for the future of Gaza in May, his Defense Minister Yoav Galant rejected it. He warned the Israeli PM that he would never allow Israeli rule over Palestinian land.

Gallant said, “The existence of Gaza after Hamas is possible only when the Palestinian people take power here with the help of the international community. If the government does not find an alternative to Hamas for Gaza at the right time, Israel's military operation will be weakened. Hamas will start to deploy again.”
