Trump wins all 7 swing states, including Arizona: Complete results, 312 seats; Biden will meet Trump at the White House on Wednesday

All the results of the US presidential election have been declared. Donald Trump also won in the US state of Arizona on Saturday. With this he has won all 7 swing states. 11 seats (electoral votes) of Arizona also came to his account.

Trump's Republican Party won 312 of the 538 seats in the 50 states in the presidential election. While Democratic Party's Kamala Harris has won only 226 seats despite putting up a strong fight. There are a total of 538 seats in the presidential election. A figure of 270 is required for majority.

Arizona is considered one of America's swing states. The margin of victory here is very small. However, in the last 70 years, the Democratic Party has won here only twice. In 2020, Joe Biden won Arizona.

Trump will meet Biden at the White House US President Joe Biden will meet with incoming President Donald Trump at the White House on Wednesday, November 13. The meeting between the two will take place at 9:30 PM IST. The White House gave this information late on Saturday.

It has been a tradition in America that after an election, the incumbent president has a formal meeting with the incoming president at the White House. The meeting is seen as the beginning of the devolution process.

However, when Donald Trump lost the presidential election to Joe Biden in 2020, he did not invite Biden for a meeting.

This will be the first formal meeting between the two leaders. The two did not even shake hands in the presidential debate held earlier in June.

Biden said – We will hand over power to Trump peacefully After winning the presidential election on Wednesday, President Biden congratulated Trump on his victory over the phone. A day after that, on Thursday, Biden made a statement about the election. In the statement, Biden said he had assured Trump of a peaceful handover of power.

Biden said he has instructed his team to fully assist Trump in handing over power. This is the right of the American people.

Donald Trump is coming to power for the second time after 4 years. He defeated US Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election on Wednesday. Donald Trump is the first former president since Grover Cleveland to return to office after defeat. Earlier Grover Cleveland had also returned to power after losing the 1892 election.

Now understand US election results in detail…

Trump's party has a majority in the Senate, the upper and more powerful house Elections are also held for both the Houses of Parliament, the Senate and the House of Representatives along with the presidency in America. The Senate is a representative assembly like the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha of India. The Senate is the upper house. Out of its 100 seats each state has 2 seats.

Elections are held every 2 years for one-third of the seats in the Senate. This time elections were held on 34 seats. With the latest results, the Republican Party has won 52 seats, equal to a majority. Earlier it had 49 seats.

In America, the Senate is more powerful because it has the power to approve or disapprove important issues such as impeachment and foreign treaties. Its members are called senators, who are elected for 6 years, while members of the House of Representatives are elected for only two years.

Trump's party is moving closer to a majority in the lower house as well The Republican Party is also close to a majority in the House of Representatives. Elections are held every 2 years for its 435 seats. These are called mid-term elections. 218 seats are required for a majority in the House. The Republican Party has won 213 seats and the Democratic Party has won 202 seats. Counting of votes is still going on in some states.

Although the upper house i.e. Senate is powerful, both houses have equal role in running the government. A bill can be passed by a majority in either of the two houses of Parliament. A majority in both houses would give Trump a free hand to make policies and appoint major positions.

People don't directly vote for the president, electors do Candidates are not directly voted on in US presidential elections. Electors are elected in their place, who run in the name of a presidential candidate. The number of electors in each state is fixed. Electoral votes are determined by population in each US state.

There are a total of 538 electoral votes in 50 states. Whoever gets 270 votes is elected as President. Electors vote for electors in a state. These voters belong to the Republican or Democratic Party. Generally, the state in which the presidential candidate gets the most votes gets all the seats.

Let us understand this with an example. For example, Pennsylvania has 19 electoral votes. If the Republican Party gets 9 votes and the Democratic Party gets 8 votes, all 19 electoral votes will go to the Republican Party because of the higher number of votes. This is the trend in 48 states of America.

However, the states of Nebraska and Maine have different systems. In these states a party gets as many electoral votes as it gets seats. For example, in this election, Trump got 1 electoral vote and Kamala Harris got 1 electoral vote, i.e. 1-1 seat from the state of Maine.
