Sunita Williams Eats Smoked Turkey in the Space Station: Celebrates Thanksgiving Day with Butch Wilmore and Friends; Everyone is enjoying the holiday today

NASA astronaut Sunita Williams celebrated Thanksgiving with astronaut Butch Wilmore and 2 other colleagues who have been on the space station for the past 6 months. Sunita Williams and other astronauts have also released videos celebrating Thanksgiving Day.

In this video, all the astronauts are seen taking out packets of packed food. These packets contained smoked turkey, cranberry sauce and other food items. Today all astronauts will take a break from their daily work. Along with this, he will also talk to his family members on video call.

Thanksgiving Day is celebrated as an annual holiday in many countries, including the United States and Canada. They were started by American President Abraham Lincoln in 1863.

Sunita and Butch Wilmore stayed in space for 176 days Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore were sent to the ISS on June 5 this year in Boeing's new Starliner capsule. Today it has been 176 days since he was stuck in space.

Sunita Williams and Bach will return to Earth after 6 months by February 2025, the NASA chief said on August 24. NASA acknowledged that bringing astronauts into Boeing's new Starliner capsule could be dangerous.

Sunita and Butch Wilmore will return in February aboard Elon Musk's company SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft, NASA said.

Why were Sunita and Wilmore sent to the space station? Sunita and Butch Wilmore went on a joint 'Crew Flight Test Mission' of Boeing and NASA. In this, Sunita was the pilot of the spacecraft. Butch Wilmore, who accompanied him, was the commander of the mission. Both of them were to return to Earth after staying in the International Space Station (ISS) for 8 days.

At the time of the launch, Ted Colbert, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, called it a great start to a new era of space exploration. The main objective of this mission was to prove the spacecraft's ability to carry astronauts to and from the space station.

The astronauts also had to conduct research and several experiments on the space station in 8 days. Sunita and Wilmore are the first astronauts to be sent to space using an Atlas-V rocket. He also had to fly the spacecraft himself during this mission. A number of flight test related objectives were also to be met.
