Britain's King Charles, who visited Australia, has faced opposition. King Charles arrived to address the Australian Parliament on Monday. Meanwhile, a native senator raised slogans against him and said that you are not our king.
Senator Lydia Thorpe said, “You are a murderer, you have massacred our people.” During this time Lydia asked King Charles to return their lands, ancestral bones and artefacts to the natives.
Lydia shouted slogans saying that the British Empire had ruined her land.

In opposition to King Charles, Lydia arrived at Parliament dressed in traditional clothing. After raising slogans, security officials escorted him out of Parliament. Speaking to the media outside Parliament, Lydia said, “As long as the King remains the formal head of Australia, we will continue to oppose the British Empire.”
He said that the king of any other country cannot command us. Lydia Thorpe is an independent senator from the state of Victoria, Australia. She is known for being outspoken against the British monarchy.
While being sworn in as a senator in 2022, he addressed the British monarch as “Colonial Majesty”. After this he was asked to take the oath again.
King Charles is on his first foreign tour since recovering from cancer. His wife Queen Camilla is also accompanying him on this trip.
