Russia attacked Ukraine with drones and ballistic missiles on Monday. Meanwhile, Russia also dropped glide bombs on the southwestern cities of Ukraine. Six Ukrainian citizens were killed in the attack, while more than 30 were injured.
Ukrainian cities targeted by Russia are within a 1000 km radius of the front line of the war zone. Five civilians were killed in a Russian attack in the southern city of Mykolaiv on Monday. This city was attacked by Russia with drones. A 45-year-old woman was also injured in the attack.
Apart from this, Russia dropped 3 powerful glide bombs on the city of Zaporizhia. In which one person died. The Russian attack comes in response to a Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow on Sunday. Ukraine attacked the Russian capital with 34 drones on Sunday.
Firefighters rushed to the spot in the town of Creevy Rih and brought the fire under control.
Ukraine claims – Russian military helicopter destroyed
Ukraine's intelligence agency has issued a statement claiming to have destroyed a Russian military Mi-24 helicopter in a strike. The attack was carried out at the Clean-5 airfield near Moscow, the capital of Russia. A helicopter was parked at this airfield.
Russia's Defense Ministry said it shot down 17 Ukrainian drones on Monday. The drones were killed in Kursk, Belgorod and Veronese regions of Russia.
Ukraine attack on Russian chemical plant
Ukraine claimed on Saturday that it had targeted a chemical plant in the western Russian city of Tula late on Friday. Ukraine's special operations force SBU said it used 13 drones in the attack. After the attack, there was an explosion in the chemical plant and a cloud of smoke spread.
According to the SBU, the plant produces ammunition for the Russian Army. Orange colored smoke was seen billowing from the plant after the attack. According to CNN, a source said the attack also damaged the Aleksinskaya thermal power plant. A 110 KV power transmission line was also damaged in the attack.
The chemical plant is located 200 km south of the capital Moscow.
After the attack, plumes of smoke were seen coming out of the plant.
Attacked with 150 drones in September
Ukraine attacked Russia on September 1 with more than 150 drones. This is the first time in the two-and-a-half-year Russia-Ukraine war that Ukraine has used such a large number of drones simultaneously against Russia. Ukraine also carried out drone attacks on the Russian capital Moscow.
According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city was attacked by 11 drones. An oil refinery and a technical room were targeted in the attacks. An explosion occurred after an attack on an oil refinery. After this thick smoke billows were seen rising.
According to Russian officials, Ukraine carried out 158 drone strikes in 15 provinces.
