Russia frees 40% of land from Ukraine: 1376 sq km of Kursk occupied by Ukraine, attacked in August

Ukraine launched a surprise attack on Russia's Kursk region in August. During this period Ukraine occupied a large area of Kursk. However, now Russia has taken back 40% of the land from Ukraine. An official of the General Staff of Ukraine gave this information.

According to the official, Ukraine occupied 1376 square kilometers of land in Kursk province. However, it has now shrunk to just 800 sq km due to Russia's retaliation. Russia has deployed 59,000 troops in the Kursk region. The officer said that the enemy is continuously attacking, but we will keep this area under our control.

Russia Tested Ballistic Missile Over Ukraine

Last week US President Joe Biden gave Ukraine permission to strike deep into Russia. Then on November 19, for the first time, Ukraine fired 6 long-range ATACMS missiles received from the US in the Bryansk region of Russia. Russia claims to have shot down 5 missiles. The very next day, Ukraine attacked Russia's Kursk region with Britain's 'Storm Shadow Cruise' missile.

In retaliation after these attacks, Russia fired a medium-range ballistic missile over the Ukrainian city of Dnipro. Russia's new intermediate-range ballistic missile is named Oreshnik. Russia called the retaliation a warning to NATO. After the attack, Ukraine is now talking to America and Britain to buy a new air defense system.

This video of the missile attack on Ukraine was shared on X by the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev.

The Ukrainian General Staff said Russia has deployed about 11,000 North Korean troops in Kursk. However, most of them are still completing their training. Russia has not responded to this claim by Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, there are currently 5.75 million Russian troops stationed in Ukraine. Russia is planning to increase this number to 6.90 lakh. On the other hand, the Russian army is continuously advancing in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. Reuters reports that Russian troops have breached the defense line in Donetsk. The Russian army is advancing 200 to 300 meters per day in the Kurkhovye area of Donetsk. The Kurkhovye area is very important for access to Ukraine's Pokrovsk logistics center.
