Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at an investment forum in Moscow, Putin said India has maintained a stable position of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
While praising, Putin compared India's Make in India program with Russia's import substitution program.
Putin said-
Prime Minister Modi has a similar program called Make in India. We are also ready to set up our manufacturing plants in India. The Prime Minister and the Government of India are creating stable conditions and that is because the Indian leadership is following the policy of India First and we believe that investment in India is beneficial.
Apart from this, Putin also spoke about the importance of his import substitution program in the BRICS countries. He said that there is a need to create a system for the development of small and medium enterprises and resolution of disputes in the BRICS countries.
Modi also praised India at the BRICS summit At the recent BRICS summit in Kazan, Putin also praised India's growing economy. Putin said that other countries talk about good economic development, but India has been consistently achieving it for a long time.
Putin also praised India's Make in India program at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) a year ago. He said that PM Modi is doing good work to promote Make in India programme.
He said that Russia should use domestically made cars. In this matter, India has presented an example under the leadership of PM Modi. Putin said that earlier cars were not made in our country, but now we are making them. It is true that they look less good than Audi and Mercedes, but that is not a problem. We should use Russian made vehicles.
We should follow our ally India. They are manufacturing and using the vehicles in the country itself. We should decide which class of officers can drive which car, so they will use domestic car.
