Pakistan, which is facing economic crisis, has discovered huge oil and gas reserves in its maritime border. According to Pakistani media house Dawn, the area was surveyed for 3 years in collaboration with partner countries. After this, the existence of oil and gas reserves has been confirmed. According to some data, the reserves found in Pakistan will be the fourth largest reserves of oil and gas in the world. Currently, Venezuela has the largest oil reserves, with 3.4 million barrels of oil. America has the purest oil reserves, which are untapped till date. According to the report, it will take 4-5 years to extract the oil or gas, and it will cost around 42 thousand crore rupees to complete the exploration related to the reserves. After this, it may take 4-5 years to extract it from the ocean depths. If exploration is successful, more money will be needed to build other infrastructure to extract oil and gas. A Pakistani security official said finding oil and gas reserves is a boon for the country's 'blue water economy'. Boosting the economy through sea lanes, new ports and maritime policy is called Blue Economy. Mining of minerals will also help. Blue economy can not only produce oil or gas but also many important minerals present in the sea can be mined. It can bring about a big change in the economy of Pakistan. Dawn quoted a senior Pakistani security official as saying that further exploration of the oil and gas deposits would begin soon after locating them. Information has been given to all government departments for this. Meanwhile, former member of Pakistan's Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), Muhammad Arif said, “Though these oil and gas reserves have been discovered after 3 years of exploration, there is never a 100% guarantee that these reserves will be tapped. ” Pakistan will not have to import LPG and oil Arif said that if we get gas reserves then we will not have to import LPG in future. If the oil reserves are found, Pakistan's cost of importing oil will be eliminated. Many important minerals like zircon, rutile are found in the maritime border of Pakistan. Apart from this, all the necessary conditions for the presence of oil and gas in the marine area of Pakistan were fulfilled during the previous exploration as well.
