Pakistan not nominated among BRICS partner countries: 13 countries get status, including 7 Muslim-majority countries

BRICS Summit 2024 is being organized in Kazan, Russia. Apart from the addition of 4 new countries, 13 partner countries have also been added. There are 7 Muslim majority countries including Algeria, Malaysia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Turkey, Uzbekistan.

Pakistan has not got a place in this. Pakistan applied to join the BRICS countries, but it could not get a place in the partner countries as well. Partner countries will not be formal members of BRICS, but will be part of the organization's planning.

This time more than 30 countries applied for BRICS membership. At the BRICS summit on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that before including new countries, care will be taken to ensure that it does not affect the efficiency of the organization.

Jaishankar will attend the meeting of BRICS Plus External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will participate on behalf of India in the BRICS Plus meeting to be held in Russia today. A total of 28 countries and 5 international organizations will participate in this meeting. After the meeting, a joint statement of BRICS countries i.e. Kazan Declaration will be issued.

We are meeting formally after 5 years. We welcome the consensus that has been reached on the issues that have arisen on the border in the last 4 years. Maintaining peace on the border should be our priority. Mutual trust, mutual respect and mutual sensitivity should be the foundation of our relationship.

Xi Jinping also stressed on the two countries to handle their differences properly. The Chinese President said that we must strengthen communication and mutual cooperation to realize our development dreams. India and China should work together to maintain a stable relationship, which can help meet the development goals of both countries.

A strategy for the future was drawn up in both countries After the meeting of PM Modi and Xi Jinping, the Ministry of External Affairs of India has issued a statement. Accordingly, the two leaders welcomed the troop withdrawal and patrol agreement from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) to resolve the dispute that started in 2020.

Special representatives of the two countries will meet soon to resolve the border dispute. It will include NSA Ajit Doval from India and Foreign Minister Wang Yi from China.

Earlier on October 21, India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that an agreement has been reached between India and China regarding patrolling on the LAC in eastern Ladakh. This will bring back the status quo before May 2020.

Also, PM Modi called India's UPI payment system a big achievement and expressed his desire to share it with BRICS countries. He invited the BRICS countries to join India's Mission Life, Ek Pad Ma Ke Naam campaign.

The PM said that this year BRICS has reached a consensus on WTO reform, trade facilitation, supply chain, e-commerce and special economic zones.
