Now, Hindi-Chinese 'Bhai-Bhai': India-China takes first step of friendship, both start withdrawing their armies from eastern Ladakh; Patrolling will start in 4-5 days

The withdrawal of Indian and Chinese troops from Demchok and Depsang in eastern Ladakh sector has begun. A major agreement was signed between the two countries 4 days ago. Indian troops have started bringing back their vehicles and ammunition as per the agreements reached between the two countries.

According to news agency ANI, information was received on Friday that the Indian troops were withdrawing. Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had said that India and China had reached an agreement on the border patrol system on October 21. This will bring back the status quo before May 2020 (Galwan confrontation).

According to media reports, the corps commanders of the two countries signed the final agreement at 4.30 am on October 21. After this, the armies of both countries began to retreat in small groups.

A few days ago, the Indian Army released a video of its tanks returning from Ladakh.

Patrolling can start in 10 days According to information received from the army, troops have removed some temporary structures like tents and sheds, it will take some time to completely remove them. Patrolling will start after returning. According to media reports, the patrol could begin in 10 days if all goes well.

The Indian Army has expressed hope that troops will now be able to reach patrol points 10, 11, 11A, 12 and 13 in Depsang. These include Daulat Beg Oldi in the north and the table top plateau at 16 thousand feet towards the Karakoram Pass.

Similarly, troops are also withdrawing from the Charding Ninglung Nala track junction near Demchok in the south. This is the same area where China's People's Liberation Army pitched some tents in Indian territory.

What is India-China Agreement? China and India have agreed to restore the status quo in April 2020 along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. This means that now the Chinese army will withdraw from the areas where it has encroached.

Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikram Misri said on Monday that a proposal has been prepared to resolve issues arising after 2020 with border patrols between India and China. Both countries will take action in this regard.

After military exercises in April 2020, the Chinese army encroached at least 6 areas in eastern Ladakh, but two years later, the Chinese PLA retreated from 4 areas. There was no agreement on patrolling the friction points of Daulat Beg Oldi and Demchok and the Indian Army was stopped in several areas.

Modi stressed on the resolution of the border dispute 2 days ago, PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President had bilateral talks during the BRICS Summit. In which India emphasized on properly resolving disputes and differences between the two countries. PM Modi said that peace on the border should not be disturbed under any circumstances. He said that stable and friendly relations will have a positive impact on other issues as well.

Now what next… According to reports, patrolling can be started at all 63 points of LAC by mutual consent. This includes resuming patrols up to Finger 8 at the northern end of Pangong Tso, where the Indian Army could not go up to Finger 4.
