Maldives Recalls Its High Commissioner From PAK: Meets Taliban Diplomat Without Permission; The Ministry of External Affairs said that action will be taken against them

Maldives has decided to recall its High Commissioner Mohammad Toha who was present in Pakistan. In fact, Toha met Taliban diplomat Sardar Ahmed Shakib in Islamabad on November 1. Meanwhile, the two leaders discussed Afghanistan-Maldives relations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives said they had not approved their High Commissioner for the meeting. For this reason, the government has decided to recall them. According to news agency AFP, Toha's name has also been removed from the website of the Maldives mission in Islamabad.

According to local media reports in Maldives, Toha was sent as High Commissioner to Pakistan in July this year. The Maldives government has said it will take action against Toha.

The Taliban are trying to establish diplomatic relations with Central Asian countries

Since the return of the Taliban to Afghanistan in 2021, no country has recognized its government. However, the Taliban, which has been in power for three years in Afghanistan, is trying to establish diplomatic relations with many countries.

Several Central Asian countries such as Pakistan, China, Russia and Iran have established diplomatic relations with Afghanistan. However, all Western embassies in Kabul are still closed. Even Maldives, South Asia's smallest Islamic country, has yet to recognize the power of the Taliban.

The minister of Taliban said – they want to strengthen relations with India

In March, Taliban Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Muttaki met a delegation from India. Muttaki then said that we want to strengthen political and economic ties with India. Meanwhile, the External Affairs Minister appealed to India to ease the visa process for Afghan businessmen, students and patients.

In February, India's Deputy NSA Vikram Misri addressed a meeting on Afghanistan in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Misri said- India's interests are linked with Afghanistan. Afghanistan should not be used to harbor and train terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The Taliban are seeking diplomatic recognition

On August 15, 2021, the Taliban took over all of Afghanistan, including Kabul. Since then he has been constantly demanding recognition from the world. Mullah Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, the Taliban's acting defense minister, gave an interview to Al-Arabiya news channel. Meanwhile, he said that the government has fulfilled all the requirements to get recognition.

However, under the pressure of America, other countries are not recognizing us. We appeal for recognition from countries that are not under US pressure. We want the powerful Islamic countries of the world to recognize us as their government.
