Machines to replace humans, world sinking into oceans: UN meeting today on looming threats to Earth; 193 leaders including Modi-Biden will participate

Artificial Intelligence (AI) can take away 30 crore jobs in 6 years. That is, the work that 30 crore people are doing today will be done by machines by 2030.

By 2050, 13 major cities of the world, including India's Kolkata, will be completely submerged in the sea. World peace has declined in the last 16 years.

In 2023, human rights were violated in 155 countries of the world. It will take 286 years to eliminate discrimination against women in the world.

AI, Climate Change, Human Rights and Globalization are among the 5 issues on which Prime Minister Modi and US President Joe Biden will meet the leaders of 193 UN countries today. It is named Summit for Future. The summit was supposed to be held in 2021 but has been delayed by 3 years.

Why is this summit happening, what is India's stand on world threats, why Modi is attending 3 important questions answered…

Question 1: Why is Summit for Future happening? Answer: The purpose of this meeting is to protect the future of the earth from the coming threats. The summit will discuss issues such as global peace, sustainable development, climate change, human rights and gender. UN chief Antonio Guterres demanded to convene this meeting in 2021. This summit is being held with a delay of 3 years.

In 2015, recognizing the threats facing the world, the UN presented 17 goals to world leaders. Almost 10 years have passed and only 17% of these goals have been achieved. Between 1970 and 2021, more than two million people died in 11,778 disasters due to climate change.

Question 2: What is India's stance on threats to the world?

Answer: India is leading the countries of the Global South. Be it climate change or global peace or human rights, the countries of the Global South are struggling with these issues. In such a situation, India is in favor of holding this summit.

India will demand changes in other UN bodies, including the UNSC, while developing countries will represent the party on climate change.

Question 3: Why is Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending this summit? Answer: Addressing people of Indian origin in America, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said one thing – “India has no role in destroying the world. India's role in the entire world's carbon emissions is negligible. We have gone green. Because of love for nature, India is the only country.” which has met the climate target.

Prime Minister Modi will present India's position on global threats at the summit. India is demanding a climate tax on rich countries. In such a situation, Modi can be seen repeating it.
