A restaurant in Canada has long queues for waiter and server jobs. More than 3000 people have applied in two days. This points to rising unemployment during the tenure of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Also, it is a concern for Indians who dream of moving to Canada for studies or getting a job. Because most of the people standing in long queues for waiter and servant jobs are Indians.
A restaurant named 'Tandoori Flame' in Brampton, Canada has started hiring for the jobs of waiters and servants. Indeep Kaur, executive manager of the restaurant, told a media channel that we think 3000 candidates may turn up for interviews in two days. 35% reduction in permits for international students Canada has long been a favorite destination for Indians. Because there it is very easy to get work permit, permanent residence and then citizenship through student visa. However, Indian students need to think before going to Canada in the coming days. Because Canada has recently decided to reduce visas for international students by 35%, which may further decrease to 10% next year.
Announcing this, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said that Canada will take strict action against “bad guys” who abuse the immigration policy and take advantage of students. He said he would tighten rules for foreign workers to reduce the number of temporary residents in Canada. Posting on social media platform X, Trudeau said, 'Our government will issue 35% fewer permits to international students this year. In 2025, this number will further decrease by 10 percent.
According to the Trudeau government, Canada plans to issue 4,37,000 study permits in 2025, which is 10 percent less than the 4,85,000 permits to be issued in 2024. While last year (in 2023) 5,09,390 foreign students were given study visas. This year (2024), 1,75,920 student visas have been approved in the first seven months.
