Israel's airstrike on Lebanon: bombs more than 70 locations, destroys 1000 Hezbollah rocket launchers and weapons depots

The Israeli army attacked and blew up a Lebanese arms depot. (This footage has gone viral on social media.)

Israel carried out dozens of strikes in southern Lebanon last night. According to the Times of Israel, this was Israel's largest attack on Lebanon since the Gaza war began. Several Lebanese officials told the NYT that Israel has carried out more than 70 attacks on Lebanon.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they have struck and destroyed more than 100 rocket launchers linked to Hezbollah in Lebanon. Apart from this, 1000 rocket barrels have also been destroyed.

The IDF said the weapons were ready to attack Israel. They were destroyed before that too. The IDF also said it destroyed several Hezbollah buildings and weapons depots.

This was preceded by pager and walkie-talkie blasts in Lebanon on Tuesday and Wednesday that killed 37 people and injured more than 3,000. Lebanon and Hezbollah have blamed Israel for the attacks.

An Israeli fighter jet flew to attack a Hezbollah base in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah said the Israeli army attacked 17 military bases on Wednesday.

The Hezbollah chief termed the serial blasts as the beginning of a war According to the report, the attack on Lebanon began when Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was giving his first speech since the pager and walkie-talkie blasts. Even after his speech, the Israeli army attacked Hezbollah positions in Lebanon late at night.

In his speech, Nasrallah expressed grief for those killed in the blast. In the speech, the Hezbollah chief said that Israel had crossed all limits with these attacks. This massacre is the beginning of Israel's war against the people of Lebanon.

From Hezbollah chief Hasan's pager blast to counterattacks, big things…

  • On pager blasts- Hezbollah chief Hassan blamed Israel for the pager and walkie-talkie blasts. Hassan described the blasts as genocide and called it the start of a war.
  • In response to blasts – Hezbollah chief Hassan said in response to pager blasts that the attacks of the past two days will be punished severely, whether Israel expects it or not. Hassan also said that if Israeli troops enter southern Lebanon, it will be a historic opportunity for them.
  • On Gaza – The Hezbollah chief said pager and walkie-talkie blasts in Lebanon will not affect his ongoing aid in Gaza. Hassan reiterated that Hezbollah would continue to help against Israel in Gaza.
