Bangladesh ISKCON religious leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu was taken into custody on Monday afternoon in a sedition case. According to media reports, he is also accused of disturbing communal harmony. Chinmoy Prabhu's assistant Adi Prabhu said he was taken to the DB office at Mintu Road in Dhaka.
According to Bangladesh media, Chinmoy Prabhu arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Dhaka to Chittagong, from where he was detained by detective police.
Chinmaya Prabhu is also known as Chinmaya Krishnadas Brahmachari. He led protests in Bangladesh against attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.
