Indian-origin businessman Pankaj Oswal has filed an appeal at the United Nations against UNGADA. According to media reports, he has claimed that his 26-year-old daughter Vasundhara Oswal has been illegally detained in Uganda for the past 17 days. He is being mistreated there.
Pankaj has filed an appeal before the United Nations Working Group stating that he cannot contact Vasundhara and is not getting legal help. So far no Indian government or UN official has commented on the matter.
Pankaj Oswal's daughter is the Executive Director of PRO Industries and handles the operations of the company. He also has business in Uganda.

Arrested from Oswal's plant itself According to reports, about 20 armed men captured Wasundhara from Oswal's plant in Uganda. He did not show his identification or the warrant before being arrested. Pankaj claimed that his daughter was arrested due to corporate and political manipulation. There is no evidence against him so he is held illegally.
According to Pankaj, the former employee had taken a $200,000 loan with Oswal's family as guarantors. When the Oswal family refused to take the guarantee, they falsely accused Vasundhara. The man later fled to Uganda.

Pankaj Oswal started building a palace like Taj Mahal in Australia. The bungalow, worth around $70 million (roughly Rs 588 crore), was named 'Taj Mahal on the Swan'. Its construction was halted in 2010 due to non-payment of taxes and building code violations, and it was ordered to be demolished in 2016. They spent about 22 million dollars (185 crores) on this.
