Hezbollah attacks Israel with its own copycat missile: reverse-engineered with Iran's help, production also begins in Lebanon

The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah is using advanced Almas missiles against Israel. The special thing is that Hezbollah has prepared this missile by reverse engineering Israel's anti-tank missile Spike. According to the New York Times, Hezbollah seized an Israeli Spike missile in 2006 and sent it to Iran for reverse engineering.

Iran reverse engineered these missiles and produced the Almas missile and handed it over to Hezbollah. Now 18 years later, Hezbollah is targeting Israel's military bases, communications systems and air defense launches with these newly developed missiles.

According to Israel, the Almas missile can accurately hit any target up to 15 kilometers away. To reduce dependence on Iran, Hezbollah has now started manufacturing Almas missiles in Lebanon itself.

Hezbollah also has Russian missiles The Israeli army has seized a large amount of weapons linked to Hezbollah since fighting began in Lebanon two months ago. This also includes the Almas missile. Among the weapons seized were Russian Kornet anti-tank missiles. According to the Wall Street Journal, Israeli forces have found a large cache of Russian weapons in southern Lebanon.

Almas became a threat to Israel Almas means diamond in Arabic and Persian. This guided missile can be fired from vehicles, drones, helicopters and shoulder mounted. Instead of hitting to the side it lands directly on top of its target. According to Israeli officials, Almas poses a threat to Israeli forces and combat vehicles such as tanks near the Lebanese border. There are three versions of Almas. Hezbollah is using the fourth version of the new generation.
